Vigorous, dense, shrubby rose, about 1.5m tall or more, with dark green leaves and thorny stems. Very fragrant, large, single, snowy-white blooms with golden-yellow stamens, almost continuously in flower from early summer to late autumn, the flowers followed by bright red, rounded fruits (hips) if not deadheaded; good in shade

How to Grow

Cultivation

Grow in fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil in full sun, tolerant of part shade. Mulch with well-rotted organic matter in late winter or early spring, and for best flowering apply a general rose or shrub fertiliser in early spring and again in early summer. See rose cultivation

Propagate by hardwood cuttings in autumn, softwood cuttings (under glass) in spring or summer or by chip budding in summer
